So The Sound of Music was on last week, and my son the piano player really latched onto it. So the strains of “Do-Re-Mi” filled my house and he tinkered on the piano to play these beloved songs.
Naturally, he picked out the notes to one of my favorites, “My Favorite Things”–which has inspired this New Year blog post!
I gave some thought to some of my favorite gifts and finds
Some recent and some tried and true.

1. Alex and Ani bracelets
These are my newest fashion fave! My kids each got me one of these for Christmas, and they can be worn in layers to create your custom wrist bling. I really like this company because its products are made in the USA. I bought an Alex and Ani necklace back in June when I was having trouble with my ear, and every time I wear the necklace, it reminds me that I am a fighter and that I should take absolutely nothing for granted (especially my health). Naturally, I gravitated to the Disney themed ones which are sold HERE instead of the Alex and Ani site. Either way, you can’t go wrong!
2. My new selfie stick
I am OBSESSED with my new selfie stick! My husband found this for me instead of the one I picked up at Bed Bath and Beyond. What makes it great is that you can press a button on the pole to take the photo–no timer necessary! We were using it like crazy this past weekend at the beach and didn’t have a bit of trouble fitting everyone in the photo since the stick extends out to 35 inches.

3. ZAQ Dew LiteMist Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffuser
This aromatherapy diffuser is the BOMB.com! Sorry for the cliche, but it is amazing! I have been using this bad boy like crazy, especially with all the cruddy germs that have been around lately. Want one for yourself?
You will thank me later! This is an oldie but goldie that I discovered several years ago on a girls’ weekend to Savannah. This hand cream works wonders on my skin and is the perfect blend of effective and also wonderful smelling. When you check out the Savannah Bee website, you will likely be tempted to get some honey to go along with your purchase (I recommend the Tupelo Honey).
5. Clarisonic Mia 2 Facial Sonic Skin Cleansing System
I jumped on the Clarisonic bandwagon a few months back, and it has been a godsend for my face! I can’t use it every day because I have sensitive skin, but when used as part of your regular skin care regimen, you will find a healthier glow emerge. You can find this beauty essential on Amazon:

Thanks to my blogging friend Jo-Lynne Shane, I found these and promptly said, “Where have you been all my life?” Best fitting jeans EVER.
