The perfect combination of Southern concepts is a Dr. Pepper cake. Yes, you read that right. A scrumptious ring cake with Dr. Pepper goodness mixed inside made by Café Valley Bakery of Phoenix, Arizona. Moist and soda flavored, this is my new go to cake for special occasions and the holidays. Let me introduce you to Café Valley Bakery, their mission, and their Dr. Pepper ring cake.
Here in the South, I grew up with several things as staples. First, Southerners know how to cook, and yes that means baking. Hello, Paula Deen, I’m looking at you! And second, we love our sodas, especially Dr. Pepper. So when I heard about the Café Valley Bakery and their delicious baked goods, I had to learn more. Because 1) my love language is desserts, and 2) what better time than the holidays to share delicious food?
Café Valley Bakery’s Dr. Pepper Ring Cake
Café Valley Bakery says they want to deliver the “finest, most delicious, high quality baked goods for our customers and their consumers.” I must say, mission accomplished. The cake that convinced me? The Café Valley Dr. Pepper ring cake.
Remember the Dr. Pepper commercial from the 80’s? The catchphrase: “Be a Pepper, Drink Dr. Pepper!” Well, this cake is definitely channeling this and has all the Dr. Pepper goodness inside. It is the newest addition to Cafe Valley’s soda cakes lineup, which includes 7-Up, Orange Crush, and A&W Root Beer.
This was an excellent dessert to serve for Thanksgiving and I can easily see it on my table for Christmas as well. Pair with an apple pie and it gives company options to choose from for the holiday feast. Likewise, it would make a wonderful treat for my teen and tween.
November 26th is National Cake Day
“Let them eat cake!” While this is the translation of a phrase often attributed to Marie Antionette, tomorrow (November 26th) is National Cake Day. So look for Café Valley at your local retailers nationwide and eat some cake!
