So I’ve been a wee bit absent from writing here lately. Actually, taking a few moments to sit at the computer to do anything seems almost like devouring a delicious piece of chocolate. Because it’s quite decadent to have that stretch of time. Our sweet little 8 week old puppy has taken a bit of precedent, you see. Perfectly reasonable, right? How could I say no to this face?
8 weeks old and already a handful! So we’ve been busy childproofing the outlets, getting special covers to encase cables, following her in hover mode whenever she gets on carpet, and making countless trips outside asking her to “go potty.” This is my life–temporarily of course. And we are starting “puppy kindergarten” next week, so I will likely have some interesting stories to share from THAT. At least we aren’t returning to the woman who taught the last puppy class we did with Cali–she didn’t seem to hold men in the highest regard (let’s just say it: she was a man hater) and made sure to make that fact well known. But we benefitted from the bonding time with Cali and the important commands and training we were able to learn, so that was the silver lining. Even better this time, we will get to experience this with our kiddos, who were not yet on the scene when our golden was a wee pup. They have been very responsible and involved (not that I expected any less) and it has been incredibly rewarding to see them bond with Mille.
So, I’m curious: do you had any success stories about your pet(s)? Or any words of wisdom you can pass along–it’s been 15 years since we did this puppy thing and I’m a bit rusty! Give me time to reply back to your comments–I may be napping while the puppy is napping 😉
