I am officially HOOKED on Stitch Fix. I just received my second shipment, and my stylist hit it out of the park! So exciting to have a package of clothes arrive that are just the right size, the perfect style and versatile and fun to boot! So here’s a Q and A session about my experience with Stitch Fix:
Q: Just what the heck is Stitch Fix?
A: Stitch Fix is a website offering personal stylist to assist you in selecting clothing and accessories that match your style profile. Pieces range from shirts, sweaters, pants, skirts, dresses, jackets, scarves, jewelry and bags. They currently offer women’s sizes 0-14.
Q: How do they know what to send you?
A: As they describe it, “you tell us your style, size, and budget preferences, and we send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home. Each Fix™ is unique and hand-picked just for you.” You complete a style profile that gives them the basic information they need. It’s super easy: they even include sample photos of different styles and asks you if you “love it”, “like most”, “like some” or “don’t like it much at all.”And at any time, you can update it or modify your profile to suit your needs.
Q: What is the main reason why you decided to try Stitch Fix?
A: Several of my friends were jumping on the bandwagon, but I was skeptical. After all, there is a styling fee of $ 20 (that does get applied towards anything you purchase from your Fix.) But imagine it: no more store-to-store rummaging! No more wandering aimlessly through the aisles looking for that one special piece that will finish an outfit. I am beyond tired of all the time I waste browsing through several stores to find clothes I like, much less ones I like that are also my size! And as an added bonus: your shipment includes Style Cards that have photos of the specific piece paired 2 ways so you can get ideas of how you can wear it. For styling-impaired me, this is a godsend! And if you keep all 5 items, you receive 25 % off the entire order!
Q: What are the main benefits of Stitch Fix?
A: Um, hassle-free shopping, for one! But what has me scheduling another Stitch Fix for June is the fact that the pieces were really ME and also fit exceptionally! You try them on at home, with the option of pairing it with things you already own. Within 3 days, decide what you want to keep, then go online and give feedback on your shipment (which things you’ll keep and which you are returning). You pay for what you keep, and return any items you don’t want in the prepaid USPS bag. Simple.
Q: Have you loved all the items you’ve received?
A: This is my second Stitch Fix. But keeping it real, I must say that I was a bit underwhelmed by my first Stitch Fix. Some of the pieces were nice, but one of them was a button-up sleeveless top, which I just wasn’t digging the style (but the color was fabulous). And the mixed metal collar necklace was stunning, but just not me (it was more Aztec princess warrior than Southern Belle.) Of the 5 items from my first Fix, I purchased the 5-Pocket black skinny knit pants and LOVE them. But I believe part of this process is giving the stylist information and feedback, and they can tweak what they send to you. Or as they put it, “don’t forget to give us feedback on your Stitch Fix shipment—our secret (styling) sauce gets better over time if we know what did and didn’t work for you.” So I did just that on my first shipment, and also asked for a dress and a lightweight jacket/throw. On shipment # 2, my stylist Whitney sent me just that! Here’s exactly what I received:
Margaret M- Alivia Ankle Length Pants in cherry red: LOVE them! Made me wonder why I didn’t already own a pair of these! And the fit was AMAZING!
Pomela-Martina Slub Knit Open Cardigan: So super comfy with really cool pockets (the photo just can’t do it justice!)
Leota-Jena Basket Weave Print Faux Wrap Dress: Color is my FAVE and I love the pattern and fit! (Necklace is one I already have-score!)
Ezra-Pippin Animal Print Pocket-Front Top: This one was the most out there for me, and I have to say that when I tried it on, I was sold! Honestly, I would never have picked it out in the store, but it just works!
Pomelo-Downing Striped Knit Shirt: Nautical chic-LOVE!
Q: Will you do Stitch Fix again?
A: Absolutely! I can’t wait to see what summery items I get in my next shipment!
Q. Would you like to try Stitch Fix?
A. If you do, would you kindly use the link HERE…In the spirit for full disclosure, I must tell you that if you do decide to try Stitch Fix on for size, the link I’ve included gives me a referral credit.
